What are ISA tracker funds

ISA tracker funds, also known as passive investments, are linked to the performances of the world’s biggest economic market indices such as the FTSE, Dow Jones and Nasdaq.

ISA tracker funds will track the movement of the economic indices and provide a financial dividend accordingly.

Why invest through an ISA

Any return from a regular investment is subject to capital gains tax, which means that any return that you receive from an investment will be significantly reduced because of tax.

ISA tracker funds could be something worth exploring if you want to circumvent the effect of tax on your savings.

ISA tracker funds give you the opportunity to invest your capital into an investment and receive tax-free interest up to a certain government agreed limit. The government tax-free interest limit for 2020/2021 is £20,000

If you want to make an investment, but you do not want to pay tax on your returns, you could use an ISA tracker fund.

In addition, with an ISA tracker fund, you do not have to complete a self-assessment form upon receipt of your returns.

Eligibility

To qualify for a tracker ISA you need to be:

  1. Aged 18 years or over
  2. A UK resident and tax payer
