During its eight year IT partnership with MARAS, Information Systems
has transformed a company that provided a traditional paper based operation,
into one that provides fully automated on line electronic services to
itself and its customers. Information Systems developed a web based
software solution that processes MARAS's customer's reference check
enquiries; the MARAS data repository has been made accessible to its
customers via the Internet and by automated phone response. The
effect of these developments has been to increase the speed of reference
processing very significantly, resulting in major improvements in customer
service and reductions in costs.
Having Information Systems as their IT partner has also enabled MARAS to
benefit from a depth of networking expertise that isn’t readily
available to small and medium sized businesses. MARAS now operates on a
fully integrated Windows 2000 domain that controls all security and access
to the network. This new model has greatly improved efficiency and reduced
the cost of network administration.
MARAS now host their own web site and enjoy the protection of full RAID5
backup, fail-over and disaster recovery plans and a secure firewall.
