International Atomic Energy Agency IN-Field Support System

Information Systems was asked to mentor and direct an internal development team within the Safeguards department of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The agency acts as the international inspectorate for the application of nuclear safeguards and verification measures, under the Non Proliferation Treaty.

The aim of the project was to develop an In-Field Support System to be used by inspectors whilst they gather and check data at nuclear facilities all around the world.

We managed the technical design stages of the development, providing direct input to the project as well as the transfer of skills to department staff through on the job training and coaching. Object-oriented methods were applied throughout to ensure clarity and completeness of the design documents.

We applied the same standards and working methods that are used internally on a daily basis to ensure the quality of documentation and the communication of technical design issues. This enables us to work in a clear and repeatable way.
