Ladbrokes Racing Web Applications

Information Systems managed, developed and implemented the applications for Ladbrokes' first Internet betting site. This involved the complex integration of back end systems that support the product definition, pricing, account management and transaction needs of Ladbrokes' existing betting services.

The web site uses java servlets to interrogate a SQL Server database and mainframe systems. A suite of Visual Basic applications allows users and automated data-feeds to provide content to the database. We managed the large project team which included both our own and client resources.

The Internet offered an opportunity to reach new audiences and to provide new products to existing audiences. But it also created a low cost market entry opportunity for new competitors. So Ladbrokes had to move fast. Having been close working partners with Ladbrokes for a number of years on wide range of projects, we were able to respond quickly.
